Description

According to Fourier's law, the heat flux is proportional to the gradient of the temperature.
The proportonality constant is the thermal conductivity \(\lambda \).
The flux is calculated as:

\[ \textbf{j}_{heat} = - \lambda \; \nabla T \]

In general, for porous medium local thermal equilibrium is assumed.
To account for effects of porous media, an effective thermal conductivity \(\lambda_{pm}\) is used.
Models for the effective thermal conductivity are for example: Johansen [43], simple fluid lumping, Somerton [73].
