Description

According to Fourier's law, the heat flux is proportional to the gradient of the temperature.
The proportonality constant is the thermal conductivity $\lambda$.
The flux is calculated as:

$${\mathbf{\text{j}}}_{heat}=-\lambda \mathrm{\nabla }T$$

In general, for porous medium local thermal equilibrium is assumed.
To account for effects of porous media, an effective thermal conductivity ${\lambda }_{pm}$ is used.
Models for the effective thermal conductivity are for example: Johansen [47], simple fluid lumping, Somerton [81].
